Mobile Engineer

Recora is the exercise care company for older adults. We use technology, clinical coaches, and evidence-based exercise programs to engage our members at home. We create lasting behavior change by activating members during teachable moments (such as a recent heart attack or unexpected diagnosis), and deeply integrating with their healthcare goals and social life. 

Our first program helps members recover from heart disease. To do so, we contract an exercise care bundle that covers clinical supervision, home-based exercise, and guided coaching to reduce 1-yr readmissions and mortality. By adopting Recora’s cardiac recovery program, health plans can save up to 30% on their cardiac care spend and members can live five years longer on average. 

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Engineer, our second engineering hire, to join our team. Working alongside our Head of Engineering and Recora Health’s clinical professionals, you will decide, define, and build the mobile face of Recora Health. 

Within your first year, you will help create the future of cardiac recovery at home. Your work will be the foundation of tomorrow’s standard of care for millions suffering from heart disease, and directly help our members live longer and fuller lives.

What you’ll do at Recora:

• Do right by our members, always
• Own the mobile experience for our members end-to-end
• Focus on creating an easy to use, delightful, experience that will empower members
• Use all the tools at your disposal to build the highest quality product possible, such as test driven development, continuous integration, storyboarding and error logging.
• Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and clinical professionals to build a best in class telehealth cardiac recovery experience for mobile
• Organize your own work, iterate rapidly and deliver consistently
• Empathize with the needs of our members and understand our long-term objectives to drive technical decisions
• Be a foundational pillar to Recora Health’s team and engineering culture

Your past experience:

Note: we consider applicants of all backgrounds. The below is simply a list of useful experiences. If you are excited about what we’re building but don't meet some of the criteria below, please don’t let that discourage you from applying! 

• At least 3-5 years of experience building beautiful, usable mobile applications on native iOS, Android, or cross platform Flutter or React Native
• Proficient in at least one of: Swift, Kotlin, Java, React Native or Dart
• Experience integrating web services to develop well thought out UIs
• Top-notch ability to collaborate with the rest of the team and organize your own work
• Top-notch ability to iterate and learn quickly
• Bonus if you’ve worked with cross platform options such as Flutter or React Native before
• Bonus if you’ve worked in the healthcare industry or at an early stage startup before
• Bonus for experience using GraphQL and REST web services
